Avery was asleep for this first picture, so she got one just of herself =)

We were just getting ready to pull out of the parking lot at our motel and here comes this deer. It was so calm and obviously has been around people its entire life. We were a little hesitant to let the kids pet it since it is still a wild animal, but we did and they thought it was so neat. They washed their hands good since we didn't want to contract any ticks, etc.. I don't think they will ever be as close in "a natural setting" to a deer as this except of course when we come back.
Ellie we think is going to be our collector. We go to the beach and she can't get enough seashells, we come to the river and she can't get enough rocks. She has a ton of stuffed animals, kitty things, etc... Her daddy is hoping she doesn't grow up being a pack rat, ha, ha!! I think being down at the river was the favorite part of the kids trip.
Rog and I felt it was time to get out of dodge for a day, so we headed to Wallowa Lake. I have never been to this part of Oregon and it has been over 20 years since Rog has. We had a great time and realized how much our family needed this once we were there. The kids rode horses, went on go-carts, had ice-cream, played in the river, did put-put- golf, and took in all the wildlife. There is a tram that goes up the mountain and there is a restaurant at the top, bike/hikeing trails and gorgeous views, so we hear because it was broke down!! I guess it broke down a few days ago and people were stuck in the cars and they had to get them out I'm guessing by rappel (sp?) and were bussed down through a service road. I am thankful it wasn't us because it looks scary enough without getting stuck. It will be something to look forward to the next time we go.
